Bob Latimer had the good fortune to pick up a copy of Stephen Jay Gould's Bully for Brontosaurus as a teenager and has been passionate about science and science education ever since. As an undergraduate at the University of Alberta, Bob volunteered with Science FUNdamentals bringing exciting experiments to elementary school classes. He continues to teach students, now at the university level, where his courses emphasize how psychological processes shape behaviour and the methodological rigour necessary for students to create new insights of their own.
Bob is well qualified as the quantitative research lead at Stormy Lake. He has a Ph.D. in marketing from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Alberta. He spent three years as a Post-Doctoral Fellow running the behaviour lab at the Rotman School of Management.
Bob also leads social listening research at Stormy Lake. His approach integrates quantitative analysis with core social listening tools, providing a more grounded analysis. Bob brings expertise in the psychological mechanisms that drive memory and word-of-mouth – two areas extremely relevant to brand and reputation building.
Since joining Stormy Lake in 2018, Bob has worked a a number of projects in the post-secondary education, place branding and tourism sectors, including work with Red Deer College, Tourism Whistler and BC Food & Wine Tourism.
