There is little primary research about the experience of Asian travelers in Alberta. We willed this gap by conducting ethnographic research in the summer of 2015 working in teams with Certified Language Interpreters. We met with Chinese, Japanese and Korean visitors.
To our surprise, there were fewer cultural differences than we expected. The experience of visiting Alberta and what they most value is shared. All three groups also come with a similar attitude:
High expectation lead to even higher disappointments.
But these visitor did not disappoint and provide us with great insights into their experiences and expectations.
